“SERENE SAND” is an independent study project I completed in which I researched machine embroidery techniques. I designed an Adobe Illustrator file inspired by the sand desert of the Grand Canyon. I then turned that file into a custom free-standing lace design. I embroidered on a water-soluble stabilizer and then hand sewed different size samples to create a garment made entirely of custom free-standing lace.
